Get Moving! "Fit for Winter" Workout Log & a healthy breakfast compliments of Claritin

As we move into 2013 I will continue to share helpful tidbits with you as a member of the Children's Claritin Mom Crew.  You know I am always looking out for my Glamamama readers!  You can visit Claritin for tons of great tips to help you manage your whole family's allergies. 

We're only a few weeks into the New Year so I hope all those resolutions are still alive and well! I was excited to receive a little motivational tool that I wanted to share with you from Claritin. You know a little motivation could go a long way so here it is! Claritin created this handy Workout Log for us to log workouts and marvel at success!

Now Don't forget to power up with a healthy breakfast too.  Here is a great recipe to get you going and keep you going too!  I added my own little touches too.

Coconut Power Oatmeal Glamamamas Way

This warm bowl of comfort is a great way to start a winter's day!
(Makes 6 servings

  • 3 1/2 cups skim milk or Skim Plus, unsweetened vanilla soy or almond milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries, cherries or blueberries
  • 1/3 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds or other nuts
  • 1/8 cup ground flax or chia seeds
  • 4 tablespoons honey (optional)
Directions: Bring the milk and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in the oats, maple syrup, raisins, and dried berries. Return to a boil and then reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in almonds and coconut, and let stand until it reaches your desired thickness. Transfer to individual serving bowls and top with honey, if desired.
