Unstoppable Movie Review starring Kirk Cameron {Giveaway}

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe would be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255:  "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

Have you heard about this compelling movie? It was only in the theatre for one day last fall but you should really watch it...and now you can since it has just been released on DVD.  Unstoppable is an 2013 American documentary film hosted by Kirk Cameron. Directed by Darren Doane. You remember Kirk Cameron, right?  Such a sweet man who was inspired by the death of a close friend who succumbed to cancer at age 15.  Cameron , who wrote the script as well as starred in the movie has stated that his mission for the film is to answer the question of, "Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?" The film is being made in partnership with Liberty University and was released for a one-night-only screening in theaters on September 24, 2013 as I mentioned.

Kirk Cameron takes viewers on an inspiring and hope-filled visual journey to better understand the biggest doubt-raising question in faith: “Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?”  This is a question that almost everyone asks themselves at some point in their lives.  I know I sure have.  Kirk investigates the origins of good and evil and how they impact our lives … and our eternities. UNSTOPPABLE will prompt audiences to consider the role that pain and suffering has in our lives.  It might initiate you to really affirm your personal views on faith and encourage conversation starters about God, suffering, and hope with family and close friends.

What a message this movie sent this past fall too!  In theaters for only two weeknights (Sept 24th and Oct 3th, 2013), UNSTOPPABLE: A Live Event with Kirk Cameron sold a staggering 260,000 tickets and reached a theatrical gross of over $3.2 million dollars. That was a loud message..maybe today's audiences want more thought-provoking and meaningful entertainment instead of the usual riff-raff out there in theatres!

You remember Kirk Cameron for his memorable role as “Mike Seaver.” He was truly a cultural icon of the 1980's.  Remember that mullet hairstyle, those cool glasses, and  fast comebacks? We all enjoyed his antics.  Fireproof, the film was extremely successful a few years ago as well as his recent documentary, Monumental.  Did you know that Kirk and his wife, Chelsea were on-screen sweethearts during their Growing Pains years?  I didn't! They are the founders of a wonderful organization, Camp Firefly, where terminally and seriously ill children and their families are provided an all-expense paid retreat (www.CampFirefly.com). Together, Kirk and Chelsea live in California with their six children. G-d bless their generous hearts!

Unstoppable was released through Provident Films, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.  They produce, markets, and distribute many faith-based films. The company is part of Nashville-based Provident Music Group, which has been one of the world’s leading Christian entertainment companies for more than three decades.  Other films from the company have included Courageous, October Baby, Fireproof, and Facing the Giants. More info is available at ProvidentFilms.org.

Missy Mila Twisted Tales Volume 1 DVD Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Do you have a little one that loves entertaining stories?  They will love Missy Mila Twisted Tales then!  Mila is an 8-year-old quirky, energetic tomboy who shares her tales but with a little bit of a special twist. She has quite the imagination.  My little one was talking about how much she enjoyed this video all night and all morning.  She watched it last night when two of her friends were over. They were totally entertained for the course of the video.   Mila asks questions and brings the viewers into her stories throughout the DVD.  Your kids will love the format since she makes them feel like they are truly part of the story. This is actually an innovative series with a second volume available too!  Both Volume I and Volume II explore the world of classic tales in a fun way with Missy Mila

Mila’s stories reinterprets classic tales in a very modern and silly way. She will have you laughing when you see a prince putting on his hair gel before rescuing the princess. He might even throw in some kung-fu moves there.   Mila might have those wolves in her crafty adaptation of The Three Little Pigs and perhaps they might be just a bit shy and not evil.  Why not? She will have all the kids laughing and getting silly at all her antics.

These videos are appropriate for kids 5-8 and I think even a little older will still appreciate the fun.  They sell for $19.95 each.

Have you tried 34° Crisps light all-natural crackers yet? Yum is my answer!

Disclosure: I received 34° Crisps complimentary through I contest I won. As always, my opinions are my own. I only recommend products that I truly enjoy and I feel are good to share with my readers.
I actually tried these at a friend's house over the holidays and thought they were yummy. They were on my iphone To-buy list (I keep list upon list on my iphone that way whne I am in the store I can remember what the heck I need to do and buy!) but I just had not gotten around to buying them yet.  They stock them at Whole Foods (I get there about once a month for a big stock up since there is not one so close to my home) and some ShopRite stores but of course not the one close to me. See where you can buy them locally by entering your zip code here. You can also buy them on Amazon.  So how excited was I this morning when a box arrived with a forgotten prize from a lovely giveaway that I had won on Cheese and Champagne.  Colleen and Jill are two ladies who (just like me!) love all things cheese and began a blog to chat about it. They have a entertaining blog that will keep you up on all the latest artisinal and craft cheeses that are out there. You just have to take a peek.

Back to my 34° Crisps.  They are a light, crispy, all-natural crackers that I just love. They actually created 34° Crisps to be a  perfect companion to the world’s favorite cheeses. Of course, they were so yummy that people enjoy them with and without their fave cheeses.
All of the flavors are delicious and there is one or maybe a few of them that you just might have to keep for yourself....aaah, maybe you will share one or two.  They have Natural, Sesame, Cracked Pepper, Rosemary and Whole Grain.  These crackers are crispy and perfect by themselves or with cheese.  Check out some of the yummy little recipes that you can use for creative appetizers too. Add a glass of wine and you are all set.
