Drexel Hemsley played by Blake Rayne, rises like a star and changes the music world forever. Meanwhile, his adopted brother Ryan Wade struggles to find a purpose for his life.  It is cool because Blake Rayne plays both characters. Ryan struggles to please his adopted father Reverend Wade.  The Reverend is loving but eternally controlling. Reverend Wade is sure his son Ryan has been called into the ministry. Ryan eventually marries Jenny, played by Erin Cottrell.  Jenny and Ryan's friends encourage him to follow his musical dreams. His two lifelong friends Dino and Avi, played by Seth Green and Joe Pantoliano  are so supportive. Both twins have amazing voices. The Identical spans five decades from the 1930's through the 1970's. It is a fascinating look at the restoration and the reconciliation of a family broken apart by cultural changes, religion and tradition. It is a lesson of love, hope, and redemption that speaks to people of all ages.

Featuring 23 original songs by father/son co-writing team Jerry & Yochanan Marcellino, The Identical is a must-see late summer blockbuster now on DVD for fans of both classic Rock and Roll, Motown and R+B! Seasoned music industry professional Jerry Marcellino, who has worked with chart-topping acts like Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson, brings his and his son's distinct writing style and breadth of experience to The Identical.

THE IDENTICAL tells the compelling story of twin brothers separated at birth during the time of the Great Depression. In 1936, William and Helen Hemsley played by Brian Geraghty and Amanda Crew welcome identical twin boys into the world. They realize they can never give these children any kind of a life beyond the desperate poverty that haunted them and so many others in the midst of the Great Depression? An opportunity presents when evangelist Reece Wade played by Ray Liotta reveals that he and his wife Louise, played by Ashley Judd are unable to have children. The Lord prompts William to give them one of the twin boys. Both brothers are born with passion, drive and awesome musical talent, but take very separate paths which eventually converge. The movie takes an interesting turn when the separated twins destinies collide.  I don't want to give away the ending so I am not going to say too much more! I will tell you that Ryan discovers Drexel is more than just his inspiration...he is his identical twin brother that was separated from hiat birth. Ryan question's everything he's ever believed about his family, his dream and his true destiny.

The Identical, starring Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd, Seth Green, and Blake Rayne is a redemptive movie about a young man, the son of a preacher, who rejects his father’s desire for him to join the ministry and instead embarks on a career as a rock singer. As he struggles to pursue his dream and rise to stardom, he finds love, pain, success, failure and ultimately uncovers a hidden family secret that reveals who he really us. The Identical is a captivating story about a family restored and a life discovered that lifts your soul and warms your heart.
