LightLife Smart Dogs, America’s #1 meatless hot dog meets the grill #sponsored @MomsMeet @lightlife #Momsmeet

Disclosure: I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program (greenmomsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of this product.

I have been buying Lightlife foods for a bunch of years now but I didn't realize that the company went back to the late 1970's. The founders of the company had a desire to create yummy vegetarian food which, back then was not so easy to find. Think about it. Even in the 90's I had to go to the local health food store to find Lightlife products. Well now the company has really grown and products are available in all kinds of stores like my local ShopRite and Stop & Shop. Lightlife has tons of yummy options that make it easy to eat healthy and keep it vegetarian too. All their products are still made with the same kind of consideration to quality and care that made them so successful back in the day.

If you have never given Lightlife vegetarian products a try, this a a great time to jump in and try their Smart Dogs. Summer BBQ's are all over the place but think about all the calories and fillers in those standard burgers and beef hotdogs. Subbing in a Lightlife Smart Dog is, well, a little bit smart! You still get to enjoy that yummy flavor and the texture is just like meat. Smart Dogs even smell like your favorite hotdog. It has clean ingredients too. It is, as Lightlife says, "Meat without the Middleman."  We like to load up our dogs with sourkraut, relish, ketchup and mustard. Add your faves and don't forget your favorite bun too. We like the soft potato buns with our Smart Dogs.

The reality is that Smart Dogs and other Lightlife products taste, feel, and look like meat even though they are made from plants, not animals. How is that possible? Lightlife has just totally perfected their recipes over the years and you really have to see for yourself. They have a regular size Smart Dog and a Jumbo Smart Dog for hungry men like my husband. Hee, hee see they really do have something for everyone! Seriously, Lightlife has a full line of yummy options including hot dogs and sausage to deli slices and tempeh. Each one of their plant-based, Non-GMO Project Verified line of products is delicious too.

One of the things I really like about Lightlife is that they have retained their generous roots. Giving back to the community is also a priority for Lightlife. Since the very beginning, they contribute 5% of their annual profits towards all kinds of organizations that also support a healthier planet and people.
