I just really enjoy using natural skin and hair care oils. I love Argan oil but I really prefer organic Argan oil from Morocco. I was excited to hear about a new option suitable for hair, body and skin from UNi. 

UNi Argan Oil is 100% pure organic made from Moroccan Argan trees. This is a naturally light scented oil which can be used no matter what your hair type. It works naturally to protect, hydrate, and restore elasticity to your hair. One of the secrets of Argan oil is that it contains a large concentration of fatty acids and antioxidants. This is a very fast absorbing light weight oil too. It is  is smooth, and not at all greasy.  I like the way it feels after I apply it to my hair.  UNi only uses the highest quality oils..they are cold pressed and unroasted. This is naturally rich in Vitamin E (tocopherols) and Omega 6 (linolenic acids) which are great for the skin.  One of the things I really like about this brand is that it has no strong odors. I have to assume it is because of the high quality. CHI Shine INfusion Hair Shine Spray Review #BeautyCareChoices

I love my hot round brush and my flat iron. They both are like old friends that I have known forever.  Even with my keratin treatments twice a year I still need my old buddies a few times a week. The thing is, you can't use hot tools without protection. It is really not a good idea to even try it.  I do my best to avoid damaging my hair because who wants more frizz? Not me! That is where things vary so much. You really need to make sure you are using a top notch hair protector like CHI.  

I was eager to try out the CHI Shine Infusion Hair Shine Spray. I love the fact that it truly polishes and protects my hair when I am using my styling tools such as hot brushes, flat irons and even the occasional curling iron.  

This spray feels pretty weightless and repairs the split ends and eliminates the frizz that sprouts up like crazy in the summer especially with all the humidity.  I like to lightly spritz it on as I style my hair.  If I need more I do a little at a time. I received two bracelets which were just stunning.  The first piece is a gorgeous
Sterling Silver bracelet with a rhinestone center ball that is full of sparkle. It is on stretchy cord so it fit my petite wrist perfectly. It can be worn alone as an elegant statement piece or it would also look pretty layered with other silver bracelets. A beautiful look for summer and perfect for a special evening out. I have been wearing it all weekend to compliments galore. My friend Tammie noticed it right away and said that she loved the sparkle. My daughter was coveting it up a storm. I don't know...I love it too much to let her borrow it....

The second bracelet is really adorable and perfect for a relaxed summer look. It is a knotted bracelet constructed from lavender leather and small square shaped pewter beads.  The pewter cubes can move around a bit between the knotted leather which I like since I am a fidgeter. It gives me something to do when I am between appointments for work or just waiting at a red light. It is light and feels comfortable on my wrist. Surprisingly, it is also a perfect fit for my small wrist. I can see this piece as my go-to bracelet on the weekend all summer long. I am going to see how it pairs with my dressier workday outfits too...I think it would also work with several simple summer work dresses to give them a little bit of a lift.

Razor Red Knife Sharpener Review

It can be hard to decide on the best knife sharpener when you are looking at all of the options. How do you choose?  You need to think about price, durability and how easy it is to use to start with. Then don't forget storage.  Small and compact is always better for me...I am running out of space. Those are key elements and I know because I have purchased a few kitchen tools here and there (LOL) over the years. My husband and I both cook and we are very particular about our tools such as knives. We only buy very high quality knives. It really makes a difference in how easy it is to prep a meal. Yummy Spring Butternut Squash Black Bean Quesadillas

What do you do with a giant butternut squash in the spring? This is an interesting recipe for Butternut Squash Black Bean Quesadillas that I just cooked up in my head.  I had a big 'ole butternut squash sitting on the counter and I needed something interesting to do with it that was a little more spring like and fun. You could also use frozen chunks of butternut squash for a faster prep.

In hindsight, I would roast the butternut squash and cut it up a day before to save time and cleanup. Or use frozen....

So I cut a whole butternut squash in half the long way...be careful! I then put both halves face down in a big Pyrex glass dish in the oven. I added enough water to cover the bottom of the dish. I roasted. It at 400 degrees for about an hour...cook it until a fork pierces the inside easily. Let it cool and cut it up into small chunks. You can use half of the squash or the whole one if you have more people in your family.

Meanwhile chop up half an onion and sauté in a bit of oil or vegetable or chicken broth if you are saving calories. About two minutes. Add 2 ribs celery chopped and one or two thinly sliced carrots then 3 or 4 small chopped peppers or one large pepper to the sauté pan. Cook on medium adding broth or oil as needed until soft 5-8 minutes.  Then add two cans black beans and cook 2 minutes or until mixture is warm. 

I used these cute medium sweet peppers that I found this week at ShopRite.

I like to use organic beans that I know have cans that are BPA free.

Slicing up the carrots thinly and chopping the peppers.

Sauteeing the peppers and carrots with the onions and celery.

Then I added the cooked squash to the sauteed vegetables.

Adding the roasted chunks of butternut squash to the mixture. Season as you like with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes to warm.

Get out your tortillas, I like the whole wheat ones from Trader Joes.

Either use grated cheese or grate it yourself.

Spoon mixture on tortilla in hot non-stick pan. Add cheese to top and bottom in quantity you like.

Cover with second tortilla. Cook about 2-3 minutes on medium flame until lightly brown and then....flip it. Repeat.

Plate each one and repeat. I like to cut them into triangles. Dip into salsa or eat plain. Delicious!

Get out non stick frying pan place one whole wheat tortilla in warm pan. Add mixture including butternut squash chopped and top with a bit of Monterey Jack or your choice of cheese and too with another tortilla. Cook on medium 2 or 3 minutes until lightly brown. Flip with spatula and repeat on other side. Remove onto plate and slice into triangles. Repeat process with other tortillas and enjoy!
