Carbona Washing Machine Cleaner Deep Clean Formula Review

I was excited to receive a new Carbona  Washing Machine Cleaner Deep Clean Formula recently to test in my home. The box comes with 3 packets for 3 uses which I liked.  I have one of the original HE front loading machines and I know you are groaning already.  Me too. You gotta leave that door open every time and still it gets a moldy smell.  I have tried hot water and bleach, Borax, you name it but nothing really gets rid of that smell...until now.  

I ran an empty load with the Carbona Washing Machine Cleaner Deep Clean Formula early this morning before work and like magic my washer and actually, the WHOLE LAUNDRY ROOM smelled fresh.  Seriously.  I-am-not-joking.  Wow, I was pretty impressed.  Carbona suggests using it at least once a month to maintain a clean and fresh smelling washing machine. If you already have a big problem on your hands smelly stinky washer issue with heavy build-up or odors Carbona suggests using 1 pouch per week for 3 consecutive weeks, then continue to treat the washing machine once per month.
 

You can use Carbona Washing Machine Cleaner Deep Clean Formula with most any kind of washing machine including front loaders and top loaders. Just follow their directions on the box.  For the top loaders they direct you to pour the pouch directly into the washing machine.  Run the “normal” cycle with “hot water temperature” setting. For front load machines like mine you pour one pouch into the detergent drawer.  Run the “normal” cycle with “hot water temperature” setting.
 

I will be continuing to use this great product to keep my washer clean and mold-free.  I do see that Carbona sells it on their website here and it is also available at Walmart stores.   Let me know what you think!

Here we are in 2013.  Forget about those high fat chips. Now it is all about the healthier options like crisps that are less fatty.  Kashi just developed a new kind of yummy hummus crisps made from chickpeas and those famous seven grains. I love the texture of these Kashi Hummus Crisps.  They are a cute little circle and have lots of flavor and crunch to satisfy but low of the fat and calories.  That sure makes me happy.  These are yummy on their own or you can dip them in your own dip or a hummus dip and double dip!

I recently shared with you about my Makit opportunity a few weeks ago and I wanted to give you the update on our craft. My daughter was excited to come up with some ideas for plates. Her first one was a patriotic theme as you can see below.

The markers and round paper templates came with the kit so it was easy to create a colorful theme or design....you could even make something random of your own choice. It really lets the kids get creative.  The second plate (below) was designated to be the family birthday plate.  I always bake for birthdays so this will be perfect for everyone!

The third plate (below) was just a pretty summer theme since we were on the tail end of the summer it was top of her mind. Lots of pretty flowers.  What you are seeing  is the paper that you draw the designs on. They send extras so if you make a boo-boo, just pick up a fresh one and start over...no tears either!

The flower one is so adorable...looks like a spring day full of roses popping up all over the plate.

I love how  patriotic that first one...all finished is below...we are often down at the beach for 4th of July so since we were there I think that was right on her mind when she though up this creation too.  It was nice because it was a relaxing, crafty project that was something new and different to do.  You can see the creations here all ready to be shipped to Makit to be crafted right here in the USA into our own special plates. 

I popped them in the envelope and we walked over to the post office at the beach.

They are here!!!! It actually was pretty quick to get our finished products back too.  They came in a secure package all wrapped up nicely.  My little big one was so thrilled to see her finished artwork on the plates. They came out just like she crafted them. The colors are gorgeous too.  We washed them before use as recommended.  She used the flower one for dinner that very night and was so proud of her craft.  We are excited for the next birthday too so we can use our birthday plate.  I would definitely used Makit crafts again for a gift or craft project and can't wait to get our PTA to partner with them for a fund raiser this year.

Back To School Survival Tips from Claritin and Glamamama

Yo mamas, it is Back To School time already, can you believe it?  I have lots of good tips to save you time and money so keep reading!  We always need to make sure we are prepared for anything that comes our way so every bit of help counts when it is back to school survival, all of us mamas know it is never ever mama for herself...it is one mama helping another, right?  I was happy to get some great Back-to-School allergy tips from my friends at Claritin that I could share with my mom friends like you online and in person. Back to School Allergy Tips

6. Monitor pollen counts and adjust outdoor before and after school activities accordingly. Dry, windy days can be particularly high in pollen.

7. Showering or bathing at the end of the day as opposed to the morning can be helpful in removing allergens from body surfaces and hair.

8. Stay hydrated! Always send your child to school with a bottle of water. Drinking lots of clear fluids through the day can help get rid of toxins and flush them out the body.

9. Don't forget the healthy lunch, mama. Many fresh fruits and veggies taste more fun when you pop them on a skewer and keep the colors bright. Yellow and red peppers, cherry tomatoes, grapes, small pieces of cheese.... 

9. Peak pollen production typically occurs in early morning, so try to plan outside activities at other times of the day.
