I was very excited to hear about e-cloth, a new line of
cleaning products. and give their products a try. I was able to have a bunch of my friends over this past week for a little
GNO GDI (girls day in) get together. We popped open a few nice bottles of wine and I put up some nice fruit and cheeses on platters along with crackers. I baked a banana bread too. It was nice to chat and catch up and I was able to share some information about e-cloth with them.
You know I always try to limit junk in my diet but I also try to limit cleaning chemicals. It is hard though. We all want our houses to be
really clean. I was interested in hearing more about
green cleaning with
e-cloth. They sent me a
mop, a Glass & Polishing cloth, General Purpose Cloth and a Washing Up Pad. I posted pictures of all of them so you can see just what they look like. You can't feel them so I will tell you they feel like they are very well made. The information that the company sent me tells me that e-cloths are not just ordinary microfiber cloths. e-cloths have 1.6 million fibers per square inch. That is a lot of fibers! Using their unique fiber technology along with just ordinary water, they break up and hold grease, grime and bacteria that would be left behind using ordinary cloths. Sounds pretty amazing, right? The best part is they guarantee up to 300 washes. I started thinking that if you are still using paper products just imagine all the cash you could save every week! I spend so much on paper towels alone.
The Glass & Polishing cloth cleaned and dried my windows to a sparkling finish. I thought they worked really well. My little one always loves to look out the windows by the couch and I find those fingerprints vexing. Not to mention my other windows that just get plain dirty. The e-cloth with water alone did a good job of removing those fingerprints. It was kind of unusual to not have to use any cleaner but I have to say it worked. No streaks either. Happy days! Some of the places you might want to consider using it on:
- windows and window sills
- mirrors
- glass cooktops
- stainless steel appliances
- faucets, taps and shower fixtures
- glass shower doors
- granite or stone countertops
- car detailing...it can remove that icky film on the inside of the windshield
- glass doorknobs
- jewelry
- various shiny objects that need to be shined up!
I was happy to see the Washing Up Pad. I really needed a new one so the timing was kind of good. The Washing Up Pad has two different surfaces. The blue side is rougher for scrubbing pots and pans and the yellow side is for general washing up. The fascinating part is, with e-cloth, even for washing dishes you don't need cleaning chemicals. This pad is for all hard surfaces including pans, cutlery, dishes and glass...even wine glasses. I tried it on my wine glass (had a bit of red tonite!) and on the dinner dishes with no dishwashing liquid and it did a good job!
I love the e-cloth Deep Clean Mop too. It is great that I can use one mop on my tiles, wood floors and even the laminate in the finished basement (okay, I know but the wood was SOOO expensive and I looked at stone and that was even more expensive so I went cheap-o in the basement). It worked really nicely on all the floor surfaces with just the water. I just followed the instructions above and it removed the dirt. I rinsed it twice during my cleaning process and just kept cleaning.
